Join Our Dynamic Operations Team as an Senior Operations Officer
We're seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Operations Officer to join our dedicated team. This is a pivotal role that ensures the smooth, accurate, and compliant processing of all client and trading activities, acting as a crucial link between our Trade Desk, clients, and external counterparties.
Key Responsibilities
As an Operations Specialist, your role will involve managing essential day-to-day operations and contributing to strategic procedural oversight:
Transaction Processing:
Daily posting and verification of all executed security and cash transactions within the Portfolio Management System (PMS).
Serving as the primary liaison between the Trade Desk and the Operations department.
Trade Settlement & Coordination:
Liaising with various brokers and counterparties to ensure that all security transactions are executed and instructed accurately according to Trade Desk instructions.
Corporate Actions Management:
Gathering client instructions, instructing custodians in a timely manner for all Voluntary Corporate Actions, processing them on client accounts, and distributing necessary notifications to customers.
Asset Transfers & Reconciliation:
Managing all Asset Transfer requests, including gathering client instructions, posting them in the PMS, and resolving any settlement issues.
Conducting daily cash and security reconciliations and efficiently resolving any resulting reconciliation breaks, including client payment queries.
Reporting & Compliance:
Preparing and distributing Valuation reports and other critical client reports, along with relevant Manager Information, in a timely manner.
Reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure full compliance with current regulatory requirements, including but not limited to MFSA's standard license conditions, PML, MiFID II, MAD II, and conduct of business rules.
Operational Excellence:
Contributing actively to the implementation and control of efficient daily processes.
Undertaking any other duties assigned by the Head of Operations to ensure the department runs seamlessly.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge and attributes:
Experience: Previous professional experience working in an Operations department within the financial services industry (e.g., bank, custodian, brokerage firm).
Knowledge: Good working knowledge of various types of Investment Products (equities, bonds, mutual funds, FX).
Skills & Attitude:
Strong analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload effectively.
A proactive "can-do" attitude and a commitment to problem-solving.
